River Paddling

On my trip I was paired with Kaelen, together we learned how to ferry, and master our flat water skills, the trip was fun but we almost went in about 4 times. Kaelen and I showed the importance of avoiding sweepers and strainers by going into them and showing what not to do. Jack was a good teacher and was very kind when we messed up and that made it a good overall day.

Tomorrow, Friday the 18th. Mr.Miller will be accompanying us to our wetlands to give us a more in depth view of how interpretation works and how to do it ourselves. A) What I did well While canoeing I was in the front I had some good call outs and it came in handy to steer at the to sharply turn away from a rock. We never tipped and the rocks helped us along and we never fell even on the rapids. B) What I need to improve Near the end I was running out of energy and my hands were blistered so I started to slow down C) What I really enjoyed I really enjoyed going along side by side and having fun with my classmates. I also enjoyed the joy and excitement to see on Miriam, Avery, and Owen’s face when we saw the bus. I also enjoyed swimming with Miriam, and Owen, it was quite fun. We also got to see the cows cross the river. D) What I found difficult and why I found the ending difficult when the wind pushed up it just kept trying push us into sweepers and it was herd to get away from them. The most important part of my slideshow to me would have to be storm protection. I choose this as my most important because floods are something we’ve had trouble with in the past and most likely in hw future. This was a very close race with animal habitats coming in a close second but I choose this one because we as humans can relate to it
