Yesterday I learned how to identify poop that was kind of crappy. I also measured the diameter of a tree and counted 35 tree rings. I looked into the identification of trees like deciduous and coniferous I didn't find that interesting. I finally learned what a Baltimore Oriole sounds and looks like. I also learned a Chickadee is very annoying and that's the sound I hate so dearly. I looked at the growth lines of a fish they were quite hard to count. My favourite part of the day was the fur identification that one was quite fun. I also liked interpreting what human objects can help us relate to the benefits of wetlands. I also looked at a health and none healthy wetland and compared the two to see what was done differently. Overall I enjoyed my time in that class and the break from this overload of work it was nice to take a break from flash cards and infographs
1. What worked in our station? It really started working when we used analogies like the jelly beans and fevers. 2. What didn’t work? On the first day people didn’t get when I was talking about climate change because they couldn’t relate to what I was reading or stating. 3. What was a difficulty that you hadn’t expected When the kids wouldn’t listen but there was no teacher in sight we were told to not deal with the kids but when someone didn’t act appropriately we didn’t have a supervisor to go to or for example the second day when s kid grabbed a leach with his bare hand the teachers were freaking out and didn’t know what to do 4. Were there outstanding students at your station and why? We had a couple of kids who just knew everything we were talking about and then there were kids who got what we talked about but didn’t know when we started it really caught on and stayed. In our class the most outstanding student would have to be Owen he spoke up and took control of our group ...
